I am an experienced game developer and artist. I worked at Miniclip for 8 years and made a lot of hit 3d games for them. On desktop I use Lightwave. I have been hunting for a iPad modeller for years.
It's great to see an app like this being developed :-)
I downloaded the beta. I'm not sure how far down the development path the app is but it seem quite far away from being a usable tool for working with.
My main gripe is that the main display and the interaction with the models just isn't good enough.
Tiny and barely visible is the best way to describe most things but the transform gizmo is awful and huge (I can only drag on the axis?) No other views except to tap on the tiny axis at the top right? No wireframe? Multiple views? Selection just with a bounding box? It's all very limiting and a turn off straight away.
These things are basic and should be clear and easy, not difficult to see and a chore to use. If the basics are tedious then it just gets a pain to use real quick.
Selecting things should have an additive mode - look at Affinity Designer for example. Or hold a finger on the screen and tap to select more items.
I would delve deeper but I seem to have broken it ;-) I posted the bug - Slice Plane Bug
All sounds negative but I am just jotting down how I find it - these gripes are probably being smoothed out. I've seen other people saying much the same thing. Look forward to future versions
